New Build and Refurbishment Works to West Berkshire Museum

The project comprised of the refurbishment and partial new build, to a grade 1 listed Museum building.

Works for this project included internal, plus external refurbishment to the existing grade 2 listed Cloth Hall and Corn Stores at the Museum, this involved the replacement and upgrade to mechanical, electrical and all internal services.

The new build section of the work was a contemporary design, two storey Museum, with Gallery and Exhibition Hall. Reconfiguration works were delivered, together with services and fittings.

External works involved paving, drainage and incoming services.

Demolition of the central link block was included on this project, which  involved the removal of the walls and ceilings.

Refurbishment of Police Headquarters

Works comprised of the refurbishment to the main block of the Thames Valley Police Headquarters, this involved re-planned layout and reconfiguration to the offices and reception areas, including the refurbishment to the external façade.

A new replacement heating systems was installed, as well as the upgrade to mechanical and electrical services.

External improvements works to the fabrics were involved, this included the removal of  the lightweight roof structure and re-roofing works, as well as stainless steel cladding panels, creating a curtained feature wall.

There were works to the data centre, to provide energy efficient cooling and some minor external landscaping, as well as new internal finishes.

The works were undertaken whilst the building and adjacent areas on the site remained operational.

New Church Centre

The works comprised of the construction of a new, two storey Church Centre, to the existing grade II listed building.

The structure holds a gross interior floor area of 550 m2.

Works involved alteration and refurbishment to the Vestibule, Entrance Porch and North Aisle to the Church, as well as a link to the new Centre.

External works included hard and soft landscaping, below ground drainage, together with mains service connections and lighting.
