The Ogston Music School, St Edward’s School, Oxford
The development comprised of the construction of a new music School building at St Edwards School in Oxford. Works also included the demolition of the existing two storey Ferguson Music School building and Estates offices.
The structure consists of an in-situ reinforced concrete frame, founded on piled foundations and concrete ground beams, supporting a concrete first floor slab. The first floor, loft and roof structure is formed with a structural steel frame. External elevations are finished in brick and stonework, with a clay tile roof.
Specialist sound equipment was subcontracted on this project, special attention was focused on quality in general and in particular to the acoustic details and specifications required to deliver a high-quality music School environment.
