Fred Francis Close, Havant
The site was named after the inventor of Scalextric, Fred Francis whose factory was located close by the development. Fred’s widow and two daughters attended the launch of the site and were present on completion to hand over the keys to the first family moving in to a brand new wheelchair accessible house.
Works comprised of the construction of a 38 dwelling development at Fred Francis Close of Kinsgclere Avenue in Havant for Portsmouth City Council. The scheme included 30 x 3 and 4 bedroom family homes together with 8 x 2 bedroom apartments together with associated roads, sewers and a large central play area.
The units are of traditional construction with brick and block cavity walls, constructed under a JCT Design and Build Contract 2011.
Development commenced in July 2017 with off-site highway enabling works followed by the main site works in September 2017. Handover of the complete development took place in early April 2019 with all units occupied in April / early May.
