Construction begins at The Hexagon’s new Studio Theatre
We’re proud to have started construction on Reading’s new 200-seat Studio Theatre at The Hexagon. Designed as a flexible cultural space, it will include upgraded backstage facilities, a modern technical area, accessible entrances, and removable seating to create a standing space for up to 300 people.
Part of the wider Minster Quarter regeneration, the theatre will become a hub for performances, community use, and cultural events. Scheduled to open in spring 2027, it promises to bring “amazing new facilities” to Reading, in the words of Council leader Liz Terry.
