We’re thrilled to share that Eton School Hall has been honoured with a RIBA South Award 2025—an outstanding recognition of excellence in both architecture and construction.

Project Highlights
Located at Eton College, the Grade II listed Memorial Hall (originally built in 1908 as a South African War Memorial Hall) has been transformed into a world-class music and performance venue

Working alongside Hopkins Architects, our scope included:

  • Restoring and enhancing historic plaster mouldings and ornate ceilings—removing asbestos, 3D-scanning moulds, and recasting original details

  • Installing a tilting floor system for flexible flat or raked seating, with concealed storage for bench seating beneath

  • Upgrading acoustics with a high-level acoustic array, perimeter reflectors, and increased sound absorption

  • Integrating refined secondary glazing, thermal performance, and external noise reduction—important given the proximity to Heathrow

  • Creating bespoke choir risers and handmade joinery to replace all doors and flooring throughout the building
  • Adding discreet environmental systems, modern lighting, a platform lift for improved accessibility, expanded backstage facilities, and restored ancillary spaces like the Crush Hall and Austen Leigh Corridor

We’re proud to have played a leading role in bringing this historic space back to life—delivering a technically sophisticated and artistically respectful upgrade. This award reflects our team’s mastery in blending innovation, heritage conservation, and quality workmanship.
