Feltham Construction is proud to have delivered the new Ideas Hub at North London Collegiate School, the first phase of the school’s long-term masterplan to enhance its facilities and achieve its ambition of becoming carbon neutral by 2050.
Designed by Walters & Cohen Architects with structural input from Price & Myers, the two-storey Ideas Hub provides a striking new entrance to the campus and a vibrant centre for STEAM learning. The building connects previously separate teaching spaces, creating an open, collaborative environment that encourages innovation and interaction across disciplines.
Architecturally, the project stands out for the exceptional quality of its brickwork, which complements the historic setting while giving the new building a distinctive, contemporary character. Traditional craftsmanship has been combined with modern construction techniques to deliver a finish of outstanding precision and durability.
Sustainability was at the heart of the project. From the incorporation of sustainable drainage systems and energy-efficient design solutions to the careful choice of materials, every element was developed with long-term environmental impact in mind. This commitment has been formally recognised with a BREEAM Excellent rating at post-construction stage, demonstrating the project’s alignment with the highest standards of sustainability in the built environment.
The Ideas Hub represents more than just a new building – it embodies the school’s vision for the future, providing state-of-the-art facilities while respecting its historic campus and setting a benchmark for sustainable educational buildings.
