St Catherine's School 125th Anniversary Halls

Bramley

Overview

St Catherine's, Bramley is an independent day and boarding school for girls set on a 45 acre campus in the Surrey countryside. It has 900 pupils ranging from 4 - 18. In 2010, the school celebrated its 125th Anniversary.

The 125th Anniversary Halls is the largest development the school has undertaken this decade - a new Performing Arts Centre and Sports Centre.

The works started with the demolition of the existing gymnasium and squash courts buildings and an existing staff house, and the removal of asbestos identified by an existing type 3 survey to make space for the new buildings.

This was then followed by the the construction of a new Sports Hall and Centre followed by the Performing Arts Theatre building, all with associated circulation areas and facilities.

The award-winning facility includes a 300-seat auditorium, boasting some of the best acoustics in the country. An orchestra pit, technical box and recording studio provide the St Catherine's girls with exciting opportunities to enjoy Music and Drama. The school hosts weekly Senior School assemblies in the Auditorium and it has also been the perfect venue to host prestigious speakers.

The equally impressive sports' facilities, adjacent, offers a multi-purpose sports' hall, dance studio, gymnasium, swimming pool, squash court and fully-fitted fitness suite.

In February 2014, the 125th Anniversary Halls were dedicated by HRH the Duchess of Cornwall.
